I can't wait to sing and dance with your family! Music has been woven through my life for as long as I can remember. My earliest memories are of bouncing along in Kindermusik, singing my heart out in church choir, tagging along to my dad’s band concerts (where I learned the trombone is both a majestic instrument and a handy slide whistle), and sitting wide-eyed at the symphony. I joined a girls’ choir and started piano lessons at age six, added violin shortly after, and even had a short stint in percussion, where my natural talent for “enthusiastically pounding on things” really shone. From there, I leapt into the world of musical theater, because why just play music when you can also sing, dance, and act it out in wild costumes?
I studied genetics in college and worked in a laboratory for several years, but I found my real joy when I got to volunteer with kids, teaching them science, sparking curiosity, and laughing together at their amazing questions. Later, as a software trainer in healthcare technology, I discovered I loved turning big, complicated things into fun, approachable lessons - something that translates perfectly into teaching little ones (and parents!). But the biggest turning point came when I had my two little ones. I started taking them to music classes when they were babies, and I fell in love with the way music connected us - not just as a family, but with a whole community of other parents and children. I knew I wanted to help other families experience that same magic.
For me, music is more than just a melody and a rhythm. It brings people together, lifts us higher, and even changes our brains in magical ways. My classes are about joy, connection, and a lot of silliness - because music should make us giggle as much as it makes us groove.
I’m thrilled to share the wonder of music with our Heartsong families and help little ones and parents find their beat and their voice.
