Who: 6 to 12 babies in class, newborn - 8 months... and the grownups who love them®

What: Songs, chants, movement, props, rhythm instruments, and joy

When: Tuesdays OR Wednesdays, 12:00 pm, for approximately one hour, for a seasonal session

How: Trained & certified, master teachers, Carey or Michelle, research-based curriculum, illustrated songbook, and downloadable recordings

Registration & Schedule

In a Babies Music Together^® class, you will find a diverse community in a cozy circle, singing, dancing, and playing together with and for their newborns. The whole family—parents, grandparents, nanny—is welcome for this incomparable "together" musical experience. Grownups will learn to connect with Baby through music, using concepts like “purposeful touch”,  “sound layering", "dancing WITH Baby", and “dancing FOR Baby", and be offered musical activities to recreate at home.

The curriculum is based on research that supports your newborn's musical and brain development. Infants are born wired for sound; they have the aptitude for learning music, just as they have the aptitude for learning language. Studies suggest that babies have remarkably sophisticated music responses; their eyes may brighten or change focus, they may move their arms and legs, coo in the tonality of a song, and more. As their bodies and nervous systems mature, growing babies will show progressively more complex musical responses. Further reading: Singing With Your Baby

Illustrated songbooks and recordings accompany each seasonal session as a cornerstone of the Music Together program. They are distributed in the first class, with instructions for downloading the recordings, and encouragement to use them regularly.
